Random Vimeo factoids

In homage to Karen’s lovely post about her Vimeo anniversary, I though it would be cool to explore my Vimeo past and see what I think is interesting/notable.

Some irrelevant factoids:

  • I joined Vimeo on January 12, 2007 at 9:53 AM
  • This is what Vimeo looked like when I joined (godbless the wayback machine)
  • I have 226 uploaded videos, 144 other credits, totaling 369 videos
  • I like 6,800 videos as of today
  • I have 782 contacts, 2169 people have added me as their contact and 2526 people have subscribed to my videos
  • I am a part of 103 groups, 21 of which I moderate
  • I am subscribed to 195 channels, and I moderate 21 of them
  • I started and moderate the Vimeo HD Channel, one of Vimeo’s highest traffic pages and most subscribed to Channel
  • I have 30 Albums ranging from ski videos to favorites to Vimeo Offline playlists
  • I have been active 871 out of 995 days since I joined (87%). Mod stat, sorry folks!
  • I’ve met over 150 people in real life that I first knew on Vimeo, including a former girlfriend
  • I started the 5 Vignettes Project, one of Vimeo’s most popular (and easy!) projects with over 1500 videos created
  • This is my most played video
  • This is my most liked and most commented on video
  • This is the very first video I uploaded to Vimeo
  • The first Vimeo message I ever sent was to Jakob (also my first contact), inviting him to a party even though I had never met him
  • Loonachic (Michelle) was the very first person to leave me a comment (something I will never forget) and one of my very first friends on Vimeo
  • Remyyy and Charlie McCarthy were my first big inspirations
  • I began working for Vimeo on September 4th, 2007
  • I consider myself lucky to be a member of this amazing community

What are your Vimeo facts?

Fear and loathing on the road to Copenhagen  | adoptanegotiator.org
things are off to a bad start here in bangkok. (counting on a karmic reblog, per usual, ryan brown.) and i’m running on 11 hour time difference, 8-hours/day of mind-numbing UN negotiation meetings, and barely 4-hours sleep/night, so the writing’s barely coherent. click away!

karenabad:

Today is my Two-Year Vimeo Birthdayversary (September 29). Two years ago, to the day, I signed up for Vimeo to leave a comment on some friends’ video for UB3. I didn’t upload my first video until a month later, but today is the day I signed up for vimeo, in 2007.
Some irrelevant factoids:

I have 213 uploaded videos, 119 other credits, totaling 332 videos
I like 5,591 videos.
I have 634 contacts, 1765 people have added me as their contact and 2198 people have subscribed to my videos
I am a part of 33 groups, 13 of which I moderate.
I am subscribed to 89 channels, and I moderate 16 of them.
I have 11 albums to showcase my work in different categories.
I made a tribute to the first and (pretty bad) video I uploaded on vimeo.
I’ve met well over 300 people in real life that I first met through vimeo.
I’ve collaborated with dozens of people that are from all over the world.
This is my most played video.
This is my most liked video.
This is my most commented video.
Remyyy was the first person to message me (as a reply to a message I sent first) and Barry Cantrell was the first person to send me his own message.
I think, Maria, from Portland, was the first person to leave me a comment.
I’ve had the same profile picture for a year and a half.
This part of my profile has never changed since the day I signed up for vimeo

I like to connect with people and love them as they deserve to be loved.

Vimeo has become a huge part of my life in so many different ways. Instead of explaining or dissecting how that has happened, thank you for living it with me in the last 2 years. Thank you for your invaluable friendship and everything we’ve gone through together in the last 2 years. This has been an incredible mile-marker because 2 years ago at this time, I had just started graduate school and had to make a huge transition in my life. Vimeo embodies my entire journey through graduate school thus far.
Thank you again everyone for all your support and for all the smiles and all the love.

Loveo.
